We next find Richard Lewis (Bolam) attempting to put his life in order under the guidance of St. Peter (Cleese) who shows him how to organise himself and allocate his time so that he can deal with priorities and still manage the daily round of meetings, office work and normal running problems. Under this tuition Richard begins to appreciate that the keys to becoming an organised manager are setting priorities, scheduling time for active tasks and allocating time to cope with reactive tasks. He begins to understand how lists, diaries, wall charts, etc. can help him to achieve a better use of his own time. St. Peter then enlightens him about delegation and through a most painful series of "toe in the water" steps, Richard learns how to plan and organise so that he can delegate management tasks without abdicating and learns the importance of training and monitoring to ensure that jobs delegated are handled successfully.
