Poroman, the title of this programme is a Pidgin word. Its rough meaning in English is a comrade or a companion. Sometimes Papuans call friends as 'wantoks' but for a special friend they use the word 'poroman'. This short promotional video looks at the work and activities of S.I.L. or the Summer Institute of Linguistics in Eastern Highlands Province. The staff of S.I.L. are what Paulias Matane calls 'poroman tru bilong yumi.'.
